Settings
Writing styles
The writing style tells AudioScribe how to write your note. For example, a style can make a formal email, a bulleted list or a short memo from the same recording.
Open the writing style settings
- Select the gear icon to open Settings.
- Select Writing Style.
To go back to the other settings, select Back.
Note: AudioScribe does not use the writing style when the rewrite level is Cleanup.
Use a preset style
Under Preset Styles, select a style. AudioScribe uses this style for your next notes.
| Preset | Result |
|---|---|
| Polish | Your words with correct punctuation and grammar. AudioScribe makes only the minimum changes. |
| Casual Memo | Clear, slightly formal text with some humor. |
| Simple & Clear | Short, friendly sentences with simple words. |
| List | A bulleted list with short sentences. |
| Business Memo | Professional, clear and short text. |
| Formal Email | A formal email. |
| 🌟 Write like me 🌟 | Text in your own voice. This style uses your writing sample. |
| Descriptive | Vivid text with images and figures of speech. |
| Legal | Precise, formal text with legal terms. |
| Poetic | Text with rhythm and sound effects. |
| Humorous | Light and entertaining text. |
When you select a preset, its instructions show in the Current Style box. You can change the instructions.
Make a custom style
A custom style is a set of instructions that you write.
- In the Current Style box, write your instructions. For example: “Write a SOAP note for a patient visit. Use headings.”
- Select Save Style.
- In Style Name, type a name.
- Select Save.
The style shows under Custom Styles. Select it to use it again.
Write good instructions
- Tell AudioScribe the type of document. For example: email, meeting notes, to-do list or blog post.
- Tell AudioScribe the tone. For example: friendly, formal or direct.
- Tell AudioScribe the format. For example: “Use headings” or “Use a maximum of five bullets”.
Change or delete a custom style
- Change: select the style, change the instructions, then save it again with the same name. AudioScribe replaces the old style.
- Delete: select the trash icon next to the style. AudioScribe deletes the style immediately. It does not ask you to confirm.
If you use AudioScribe on more than one device, select the refresh icon next to Custom Styles to get your newest styles.
Write like me (writing sample)
Give AudioScribe a sample of your own writing. AudioScribe then copies your tone, sentence length and words.
- In Writing sample (optional), paste 200 to 500 words that you wrote. For example, use an email or a blog post.
- Under Preset Styles, select 🌟 Write like me 🌟. Alternatively, use the sample with a custom style.
The sample can have a maximum of 5,000 characters. When you save a custom style, AudioScribe also saves the sample with it. These styles show a “voice sample” tag.
