I had established one free account and one pro account both with different email addresses but I would like to consolidate them to the pro account. When I add the other email address to my current Pro account there is an error message saying that I cannot add it because it has its own account. So I am unable to join the two accounts even though it's me for both.

You will need to delete the other free account to free up that email address. Then log in to the Pro account and add that email address in the Account Settings page.
