There are times when the grey box at the top of the screen will have text that it recognized, but then it will disappear, it does not move down to the notepad. It's like it is holding it there, but instead of moving it down with the rest of the text, it disappears and the current speech is processed.
Is there anyway to prevent it from doing that?
I'm losing a lot of the dictation because of this.
When I checked the logs, I see many network errors. One possible cause is the network error is causing loss of dictation context. This usually happens when you have an unstable connection.

Are you on the tab? As in when dictating, is the Dictanote window open and active?
Network errors makes sense. I am working through a VPN connection.
Also, there are other apps running that may be resource/bandwidth intensive.
Any suggestions for maintaining a stable connection over a VPN?

Not sure. Can you try using without a VPN once and see if it works well?
This is something you have to ask your VPN provider.
I have personally used Cloudflare Warp and it works smoothly on it.
