It's frustrating that it doesn't work even though it's using the same base system as Chrome...

The speech-to-text APIs needed by Voice In are only available in Chrome and Edge, the two browsers we support. These are not available on other browsers like Brave, Vivaldi, and Firefox.
I recommend users (if they can) to use Chrome with uBlock origin extension which provides similar privacy protection as these other browsers.
