I paid for the plus account and used it for two weeks or so. Then, I went to use it in Google Classroom, and the icon was gone. I emailed our district's tech support and they don't seem to know about it being blocked or not. The response I got was this: "Try using it with a personal Google acct. If I recall, it is not longer available for Educational accts." Is that true?
